AG-EXperience for Students is a joint venture with Prairieland Park, Agriculture in the Classroom and the Saskatchewan Government. The program is held yearly in October to approximately 800 grade four students over three days.
The objective is to provide a fun, educational, hands-on, multisensory environment for students and teachers to learn about the value and impact of agriculture on the daily lives of Saskatchewan people. Students are guided through a variety of stations facilitated by industry personnel and volunteers relating to agricultural. Activities are centered on raising livestock, growing crops, production techniques, the environment and safety.
Saskatoon Prairieland Park Corporation maintains a strong commitment to its agricultural roots and believes in the importance of supporting agricultural education. The school tour program was started in November of 1990 and has grown to the AG-EXperience program we have today thanks, in part, to our sponsors and partners: Agriculture in the Classroom and the Government of Saskatchewan.
At a time when only a small percentage of the Canadian population has direct ties to the family farm, we believe in the importance of showcasing agriculture, connect communities and increasing awareness and educational opportunities for this sector. Through the AG-EXperience, students will gain an understanding of why agriculture is necessary, as well as, the impact it has on our daily lives and the world around us.
