SASKATOON, Saskatchewan – approximately 800 Grade 4 students will attend the annual AG-EXperience event, held at the WORLD TRADE CENTER Saskatoon at Prairieland Park and the Prairieland Park AG Center, Tuesday, Oct 2 to Thursday, Oct 4, from 9:30 am – 2:30pm.
Working in partnership with Ag in the Classroom, Saskatoon Prairieland Park Corporation provides students the opportunity to learn where their food comes from. Students are guided through stations covering a variety of agricultural topics. Hands-on, interactive sessions are facilitated by industry personnel and volunteers and closely tied to the Saskatchewan curricula. Activities are centred on livestock, crops, and the environment.
“Many people, specifically children, have little or no knowledge of how their food is produced and delivered. AG-EXperience helps to bridge the gap between rural and urban, building awareness for, and appreciation of, the role of agriculture in our everyday lives”.
This programming at Prairieland Park falls at the beginning of Agricultural Awareness Month and is just one of the many agriculturally focused events at the Park this fall.
