The World Trade Center of Saskatoon Prairieland Park Corporation currently requires casual
Bartenders to join our team!

The selected candidates must be available to work on December 6th & 7th, 2024. Opportunities
for additional shifts will be available throughout the holiday season.

Qualifications:

  •  Applicants must be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Must be 19 years of age or older.
  • Successful applicants must have the Serve it Right Saskatchewan certification.

Journeyperson HVAC/Plumber Technician

The Operations Department of Saskatoon Prairieland Park Corporation currently requires a full-time Journeyperson HVAC/Plumber Technician.

Reporting to the Manager of Operations, the purpose of the HVAC/Plumber Technician role is to
perform preventative maintenance activities, troubleshoot and repair Praireland HVAC
equipment, and provide plumbing services as required for all equipment. This includes plumbing
services for event requirements.

To be successful in this role, the HVAC/Plumbing Technician will bring a positive approach and
heightened attention to detail and quality when providing all required services. The successful
candidate will have the ability to build positive relationships and will possess strong
communication skills.

The role is 40 hours per week with regular work hours being 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from
Monday to Friday. The selected candidate will also be on call as evening and weekend
availability will be required from time to time.

Duties:

  • Customer service is the top priority.
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC and plumbing problems, including heating and A/C units.
  • Organize and maintain HVAC/plumbing shop, keep shop clean and free of clutter, order
    parts as required.
  • Ensure our client’s plumbing requirements are delivered in a timely and professional
    manner.
  • Ensure that all work is completed following proper safety guidelines.
  • Organize, store and maintain all event related plumbing equipment such as HW tanks,
    valves, pumps, etc.
  • Assist in planning and implementing special projects designated by management.
  • Assist in developing building maintenance plan for CMMS.
  • Develop good working knowledge of Prairielands essential utility locations in the
    buildings and on the grounds including water hookups and shutoff locations. Fire
    sprinkler locations, isolation procedures, sewer and drain line locations, lighting controls,
    electrical panels and essential breaker locations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working as a Journeyman HVAC
    Technician/Refrigeration Mechanic with an Interprovincial Certification.
  • General Gas-Fitter License required.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who also have a Journeyman Plumbing
    certification.
  • Must have a valid drivers’ license; minimum Class 5, Class 4 an asset.
  • Forklift experience is considered an asset.
  • WHMIS & First Aid certifications are considered an asset.
  • Forklift, zoom booms, and scissor lift experience considered an asset
  • Computerized Maintenance Management System skills
  • Operation of various hand tools.
  • Knowledge of fire regulations, Occupational Health & Safety regulations, and emergency
    procedures.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Effective time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be a team player with a proven ability to communicate pleasantly and effectively
    with customers, co-workers and guests.
  • Ability to identify potential HVAC and plumbing equipment failure and assist with
    maintenance programs
  • Computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook.

Operations Personnel

The Operations Department of Saskatoon Prairieland Park Corporation currently requires full-time Operations Personnel.

Reporting to the Manager of Operations, the purpose of the Operations Personnel position is to
provide specific services and support for all Prairieland events and their rental customers. The
Operations Personnel are also involved in the overall operations and maintenance of all
Prairieland Park facilities, grounds, equipment, and inventory.

To be successful in this role, Operations Personnel bring a positive approach and heightened
attention to detail and quality when providing all required services. Efficiency and thoroughness
are critical when producing multiple events. Record keeping is required for all services provided
and inventory adjustments as needed.

The role is 40 hours per week and the work schedule will vary from week to week depending
upon the events schedule. Evening, weekend, and overnight shifts will be required.

Duties:

  • In collaboration with Operations Department Staff, Event Coordinators, and customers,
    temporary installation and/or removal of material required for individual events in
    accordance with event specifications to include staging, carpet, drape, tables, chairs,
    décor material, and other equipment.
  • Materials handling (shipping/ receiving) of tradeshow related materials, sign installation
    and other services in accordance with event specifications.
  • Monitoring of all building mechanical (lighting, temperature, electrical) for maintenance
    of facilities to ensure safety and comfort for all.
  • Communication with co-workers and customers to ensure that all event requirements and
    event changes are completed to the customer’s satisfaction or passed on to the
    appropriate person to be addressed.
  • General maintenance duties as assigned for upkeep of facilities and all property.
  • Outdoor grounds maintenance duties as assigned. (Snow and ice removal, grounds
    sweeping, painting, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Must have a strong desire to provide excellent customer service.
  • Must be a team player with proven ability to communicate pleasantly and effectively with
    customers, co-workers, and guests.
  • Be well organized and able to establish and set work priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Must have strong attention to detail.
  • Previous experience operating forklifts, bobcats, scissor lifts and tractors is preferred.
  • Must be physically fit, energetic, and have the ability to lift and move heavy objects.
  • Forklift certification is considered an asset.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Prairieland is accepting applications, on a casual basis, for the following positions at SaskTel Centre and at Prairieland:

  • Ushers, Merchandise Sellers & Guest Services
  • Door Staff, Liquor Ticket Sellers, & Cashiers
  • Seasonal casual employment for different types of jobs (Glow move-in/move-out, coat check attendants, parking attendants, etc.)
