Prairieland self-produces several community events each year. Hosting our own events means we understand exactly what it takes to create an incredible experience from start to finish. Between our Special Events and Agriculture departments, we proudly produce the following events, festivals, and expositions.
western canadian crop production show
The Western Canadian Crop Production Show has been the “must-attend” event for prairie farmers since 1983, making it a true leader in the field of crop science and technology.
Held annually in January.
dare 2 judge
Prairieland Junior Ag Showcase, in conjunction with the University of Saskatchewan Judging Team, is pleased to present Dare 2 Judge. This competition will serve as the Saskatoon Regional 4-H Judging Competition qualifying event and the University of Saskatchewan Judging Team’s Annual Collegiate Judging Competition.
Held annually in late January.
prairieland youth leadership conference
The Prairieland Youth Leadership Conference (or YouLead, as we like to call it) is designed to cultivate leadership skills in current Saskatchewan 4-H members with a fun mix of social, interactive, and competitive activities.
Held annually in February.
saskatchewan equine expo
Since 2012, we have been “Celebrating Equine Diversity” by welcoming enthusiasts to take part in entertainment, demonstrations, competitions and a trade show focused on horses and those that love them.
Held annually, returning with a new format in February 2026.

Saskatchewan Blue Cross Gardenscape is the first sign of spring in Saskatoon — a paradise bursting with vibrant blooms!

Prairieland’s Garden Experience is a fun and educational field trip for Grade 3 classrooms in Saskatchewan, where students get to participate in first-hand learning at a variety of information stations.

The Saskatchewan Beef Expo is one of the essential beef events for youth in rural Saskatchewan. Participants learn about the selection, judging, grooming and safe-handling of livestock from industry-leading experts while earning recognition for their hard work.

A unique cultural gateway to worlds beyond where fans revel in pop culture and geeky splendor. Pop Con YXE is not just a new name; it’s a new era.

Prairieland’s Junior Ag Showcase is the result of a year’s worth of hard work by members of 4-H Saskatchewan’s Northwest Region. Teamwork, mentorship and community-building are integral to the success of everyone that participates.

ag experience
Ag Experience is a joint venture of Prairieland Agriculture, Ag in the Classroom, and the Government of Saskatchewan. Together with our many sponsors, we assist students in gaining an understanding of why agriculture is necessary and how it impacts their daily lives.

Glow is a family-friendly indoor holiday light festival that celebrates the magic of winter. Experience interactive light gardens, illuminated structures, delicious food & drinks, shopping, and daily live entertainment under the twinkle of a million lights.
