Part-Time Server SOT

Sports on Tap of Prairieland are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-oriented professional to join our team as a part-time server. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work and is a collaborative team player who excels in a fast-paced environment.

Applicants must be available to work day, evening and weekend shifts.

Duties:

  • Provide a high level of service for food and drink orders to guests.
  • Maintenance of cleanliness on service floor and serving area.
  • Cashier duties.

Qualifications:

  • Successful applicants must have the Serve it Right course and be able to provide their completion certificate.

Casual Cook

The World Trade Center of Saskatoon Prairieland Park Corporation currently requires a casual Cook to join our team!

The Cook will contribute to extraordinary culinary events, superior first-rate customer service, and a positive, safe working environment. Under the direction of the Executive Chef, the Cook will prepare food as part of a team, for events as large as 5,000 people.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and cook a wide variety of items including appetizers, salads, soups, hot meals, and desserts following established recipes and guidelines.
  • Ensure that all food is prepared to high-quality standards, paying attention to consistency of taste, presentation, and portion size.
  • Operate kitchen utensils and equipment according to safe work procedures.
  • Adhere to proper safe food handling, storage, and cleaning practices to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Maintain positive, open communication with Food and Beverage team members to facilitate smooth kitchen operations, including coordination of timing of food preparation.
  • Contribute to a positive customer experience by executing orders in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Contribute to menu and product research and development.
  • Contribute to managing inventory of supplies and ingredients. This includes but is not limited to receiving, properly storing, and identifying needed supplies and ingredients.
  • Contribute to training team members on safe work procedures, food handling, and equipment usage.
  • Adhere to health and safety practices and policies.
  • Monitor equipment performance and report any safety concerns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES

  • Minimum of one year of commercial cooking experience. Experience cooking for banquets is considered an asset.
  • WHIMS Certification, Food Safe Level 1 and 2 Certification.
  • Safety-minded.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Go-getter who takes initiative, pays close attention to detail, and takes pride in superior first-rate customer service.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and nights.
  • Experience in receiving, storage and maintenance of inventory.
  • Knowledge of common commercial kitchen equipment; food preparation terms; cooking methods; meat cuts; fish and shellfish; poultry; catering terms.
  • This position requires standing, walking, and lifting awkward/heavy objects along with use of pallet jacks when moving product or accepting orders.

Wage is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Part-Time Bartender SOT

Sports on Tap of Saskatoon Prairieland Park Corporation currently has an opening for a part-time Bartender. This is a part-time position with the potential to become a full-time role.

To be successful in this role, the bartender will be a team player who brings a positive attitude and always prioritizes customer service while maintaining the bar.

Applicants must be available to work weekend, evening, and day shifts.

Duties:

  • Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Maintain inventory and control bar stock.
  • Cashier duties.
  • General cleaning duties.
  • Provide excellent customer service by taking orders and preparing them efficiently.
  • Follow policies to ensure safety of self, co-workers, and patrons.

Qualifications:

  • Successful applicants must have the Serve it Right course and be able to provide the certificate.
  • Must be 19 years of age.
  • Previous bartending experience is an asset.
  • Be mature and dependable.
  • Heavy lifting is required – Must be able to lift up to 160 lbs. (full keg of beer).

Event Support Assistant- Summer 2025

Work Term: May 20, 2025 to August 22, 2025
Hours: 35 to 40 hours per week

Saskatoon Prairieland Park Corporation is currently seeking a temporary full-time summer Event Support Assistant to join our team.

The Saskatoon Exhibition is Saskatchewan’s largest summer festival, attracting more than 215,000 people annually to this eight-day event. The successful applicant will work closely with the Signature Events Department to assist with the presentation of the Saskatoon EX.

Required work schedule for this position:

  • Monday to Friday – 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends when required, and especially during the Saskatoon EX from July 31, 2025 to August 7, 2025.

Job Description/Duties:

  • Provide event planning support for the Saskatoon Ex and related programs:
    Parade, presale, onsite ticketing, staff & volunteer scheduling, and information services.
  • Work as support for the design/print aspects of the Marketing Department.
  • Assist with the corporate bulk buy promotions.
  • Participate in external Saskatoon Exhibition promotions (golf tournaments, Spudnut Patrols).
  • Sponsorship fulfilment related duties for the Saskatoon Ex in marketing, printing, design or promotions.
  • Onsite duties during the Saskatoon Exhibition including but not limited to: Meet and Greet Access for the Grandstand, assisting with the Mascot parade and the Mardi Gras Parade, and volunteer breaks.
  • Social Media posts relating to marketing efforts for Prairieland and the Saskatoon Ex.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be between the ages of 15 and 30.
  • Previous marketing and/or event planning experience / education an asset.
  • Effective team player who is self-motivated and outgoing.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Essential to manage time effectively.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision if necessary.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 products including Word & Access is a necessity.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and InDesign is an asset.
  • Knowledge of written communication standard practices is an asset.

Groundskeepers - Summer Job 2025

Work Term: May 5, 2025 to August 22, 2025
Hours: 40 hours per week

Saskatoon Prairieland Park Corporation is seeking four (4) temporary full-time summer Groundskeepers to join our team.

To be successful in this role, groundskeepers need to be dependable, hardworking, and punctual.

Required work schedule for this position:

  • Monday to Friday – 7:00 am – 3:30 pm (1/2-hour unpaid lunch).
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends if required.

Job Description/Duties:

  • Maintenance of Prairieland Park grounds: cutting grass, whipper-snipping, irrigation duties, planting and maintenance of all seasonal plants and existing trees/shrubs, garbage clean up as required, weed control/ spraying and pest (gopher) control.
  • Design and implement floral baskets, beds, containers, and seasonal displays.
  • Apply soil mixtures and fertilizers.
  • Inspect plant material for pests, insects and disease and apply appropriate corrective measures.
  • Sound knowledge of plants, plant maintenance, soil disease, weeding, plant identifications and pruning.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be between the ages of 15 and 30.
  • Must have experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, and plant maintenance.
  • Must have experience with operating grounds-keeping equipment, small hand tools and irrigation equipment.
  • Must be physically fit to be able to perform heavy manual outdoor work in all weather conditions.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations.

Prairieland is accepting applications, on a casual basis, for the following positions at SaskTel Centre and at Prairieland:

  • Ushers, Merchandise Sellers & Guest Services
  • Door Staff, Liquor Ticket Sellers, & Cashiers
  • Seasonal casual employment for different types of jobs (Glow move-in/move-out, coat check attendants, parking attendants, etc.)
