Dual National Toursim Nominations for Prairieland

Prairieland and Executive Chef Eliot Lang Secure Dual National Finalist Spots for 2026 Canadian Tourism Awards

Prairieland and its Executive Chef, Eliot Lang, are national finalists for Tourism Employer of the Year and Tourism Employee of the Year, respectively. Recognized by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC), this dual honour places Prairieland among the top hospitality and tourism organizations in the country.

The Tourism Employee of the Year award, sponsored by Tourism HR Canada, celebrates front-line professionals whose quality of service best exemplifies excellence. The addition of the Tourism Employer of the Year nomination highlights Prairieland’s overarching commitment to fostering an exceptional workplace culture alongside its top-tier client experience.

“Eliot’s talent, drive, and dedication to the tourism industry are exceptional. Having had the honour of working with him for over 40 years, I can say this recognition is truly well deserved,” says Sharon Odnokon, Food & Beverage Manager at Prairieland. “Eliot represents the level of hospitality and professionalism we strive to deliver every day, and we are extremely proud to see him recognized among Canada’s best,” adds Jason Hynd, Director of Client Services at Prairieland.

“This nomination for Employer of the Year belongs to every single person who works at Prairieland. We have always believed that if we support our team, they will create unforgettable experiences for our guests. Seeing our entire organization recognized alongside Chef Eliot is one of the proudest moments in our history, and it is a true honour to work alongside this incredible group of people every day,” says Prairieland CEO Dan Kemppainen.

Chef Lang and Prairieland representatives will be celebrated alongside fellow category finalists and Canada’s top tourism leaders next month

“It is with great honour and pride that I have been nominated for Canadian Tourism Employee of the Year,” says Executive Chef Eliot Lang. “I am truly humbled and grateful to be recognized in this way, and I’m still trying to wrap my head around it all.”
