AV Facilities Technician (Casual)

The AV Production Department of Saskatoon Prairieland Park Corporation currently requires a casual AV Facilities Technician to join our team.

The AV Production team is responsible for the setup, operation, and takedown of audio-visual elements for events at Prairieland.
Reporting to the Manager of AV Production, the purpose of the AV Facilities Technician is to ensure that AV systems are installed correctly, function reliably during events, and are properly dismantled and stored afterwards. Technicians work closely with the A/V Production team to support a wide range of events, from small meetings to large-scale productions.

The work schedule will vary from week to week depending upon Prairielands event needs. Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts will be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer service is always the top priority.
  • Set up AV equipment including sound systems, lighting, video, and control consoles according to event requirements.
  • Operate AV systems during live events, ensuring smooth execution and quick response to technical issues.
  • Dismantle and safely store the AV equipment post-event, maintaining organization and readiness for future use.
  • Perform routine checks on AV gear to ensure functionality and safety; report any lost or broken equipment to the AV Production management team.
  • Operate aerial work platforms (e.g. scissor lifts) as required for tasks involving work at heights.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years’ experience working in the Audio-Visual industry.
  • Hands-on experience with professional AV equipment including audio mixers, lighting consoles, video switchers, and projection systems.
  • Familiarity with live event environments and the technical demands of sound, lighting, and video setups.
  • Basic understanding of wireless networking and computer systems used in AV presentations.
  • Knowledge of ETC lighting systems is considered a strong asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint), Canva, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams are considered beneficial for supporting presentation-based events.
  • Strong customer service skills with a professional and helpful attitude.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, dynamic event settings.
  • Detail-oriented and safety-conscious when handling equipment.
  • Able to follow technical instructions and event specifications accurately.
  • Physically capable of lifting and moving heavy equipment up to 50lbs as part of daily duties.
  • Comfortable working at height on aerial work platforms in accordance with safety protocols.

AV Client Coordinator

The AV Production Department of Saskatoon Prairieland Park Corporation currently requires a full-time AV Client Coordinator to join our team.

The AV Production team is responsible for the setup, operation, and takedown of audio-visual elements for events at Prairieland.
Reporting to the Manager of AV Production, the AV Client Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between clients, the AV Department, and internal teams. This role is responsible for gathering, verifying, and executing audio-visual quotations for events hosted at Prairieland. The selected candidate will also support clients from initial planning through move-in, event time, and move-out, ensuring AV services meet or exceed expectations.

The role is 40 hours per week, and the work schedule will vary from week to week depending upon the events schedule. Evening, weekends, and holiday shifts may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer service is always the top priority.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding AV services throughout the event lifecycle.
  • Initiate and maintain communication with clients to gather AV requirements and provide guidance on available services and equipment.
  • Provide clear, accurate cost estimates for AV services.
  • Forward new booking inquiries to AV Production Managers.
  • Utilize Details Sheets to communicate and verify event details, document events for record keeping and produce post-event reports.
  • Participate in post-event debriefs with the AV and Production teams.
  • Compile billing information and submit for invoice generation.
  • Liaise with client post-event to gather feedback and relay issues to management.
  • Provide backup for staff scheduling and assignments allocation.
  • Other duties as required.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Events, AV, Hospitality or similar is an asset. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • A minimum of 1 years’ experience in a coordinator role.
  • Experience in event coordination within AV or production environments is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of AV equipment and terminology preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, Outlook, and Teams).
  • Self-motivated and highly organized.
  • Strong commitment to exceptional customer service.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a professional and positive demeanor.
  • Effective written and verbal communication; active listening skills.
  • Strong administrative and time management abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset.
  • Familiarity with Occupational Health & Safety regulations and emergency procedures.

Part-Time Bartender

Sports on Tap of Saskatoon Prairieland Park Corporation currently has an opening for a part-time Bartender. This is a part-time position with the potential to become a full-time role.

Our people are the heart and soul of our business, and we are looking for a bartender who is a team player, brings a positive attitude, and always prioritizes customer service while maintaining the bar.

Applicants must be available to work weekend, evening, and day shifts.

Duties:

  • Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Maintain inventory and control bar stock.
  • Cashier duties.
  • General cleaning duties.
  • Provide excellent customer service by taking orders and preparing them efficiently.

Qualifications:

Prairieland is accepting applications, on a casual basis, for the following positions at SaskTel Centre and at Prairieland:

  • Ushers, Merchandise Sellers & Guest Services
  • Door Staff, Liquor Ticket Sellers, & Cashiers
  • Seasonal casual employment for different types of jobs (Glow move-in/move-out, coat check attendants, parking attendants, etc.)
