Landmark fair ends with record attendance

The 2025 Saskatoon EX wrapped up its 140th anniversary celebration with the “Last Blast,” drawing 25,571 guests on the final day and a total of 255,677 over eight days—a new fair attendance record. Under a mix of sun and clouds, attendees embraced every part of the fair—from midway thrills and tasty treats to top-tier entertainment.

Evan Drisner, Chair of the Prairieland Board, reflected on the milestone: “This has truly been a landmark year for the Saskatoon EX. As we celebrate our 140th anniversary, we’re proud to have delivered the biggest midway in our history and hosted our largest concert ever with TLC. The response to our 8-day fair has been nothing short of incredible. We were thrilled to close out this milestone week with two of Saskatoon’s own—Wide Mouth Mason and The Sheepdogs—bringing it all home in true Saskatchewan style.”

The evening ended on a musical high at the Kickin’ Horse Saloon with Canadian rock icon Bif Naked. Her raw vocals and punk-rock energy brought a powerful blend of alternative rock and heartfelt storytelling that left the crowd buzzing.

“This year’s Saskatoon EX was nothing short of spectacular. From record-breaking attendance to the incredible energy our community brought to the fairgrounds, 2025 truly showcased the heart and spirit of Saskatoon,” said Dan Kemppainen, Chief Executive Officer at Prairieland. “We are grateful to our dedicated staff, volunteers, vendors, and performers who made it all possible, and to every guest who came out to create unforgettable memories with us.” He concluded, “On behalf of the Board of Directors, the Membership, and the Management and Staff, thanks again for all of the support from all levels of stakeholders.”

The Saskatoon EX has always been about bringing people together, and this year, we saw that magic come to life in the biggest way yet. The move to an 8-day fair with North American Midway Entertainment brought a 35% increase in ridership capacity and showcased 85% of the Calgary Stampede’s midway. With an unmatched entertainment lineup, the 2025 EX proved once again that Saskatoon knows how to celebrate. As the lights dim on the fair, the memories made will continue to shine brightly. Here’s to 140 years of tradition, community, and celebration—and to many more to come.
