Saskatoon EX Revives Parade Grand Marshal Tradition

A Lifetime of Service: Local Leader Randy Pshebylo takes the helm

A beloved tradition returns to the 2026 Saskatoon EX as dedicated community leader Randy Pshebylo takes the helm as the Saskatoon EX Parade Grand Marshal. Celebrating a 40-year legacy of volunteerism, Randy has been
specially chosen to bring this custom back in style.

Randy’s extensive involvement with the parade began in 1986 as the Marching Band Chair. In 1993, he stepped up to become the Parade Chair, a position he passionately held for 18 years. He was instrumental in transitioning the parade operations in-house and continually championed behind-the-scenes improvements to deliver a safe, fun, and memorable event for the citizens of Saskatoon.

This spring, Randy was awarded his 35-year membership pin with Prairieland, celebrating a tenure that includes three terms and nine years served on the Prairieland Board of Directors.

“It is a true honour to be part of the city’s annual parade that I participated in as a kid, and have served in all my adult life,” Randy shared. “Being the Grand Marshal in my 40th year with the Exhibition Parade, and just receiving my 35-year membership pin, truly celebrates a major contribution of volunteering efforts and years of fun with Prairieland and what it brings to Saskatchewan.”

A recipient of both the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal and the Saskatchewan Volunteer Medal, Randy’s dedication to Saskatoon runs deep. Growing up in a family that valued community service, he views volunteering as a way to pay it forward and improve the quality of life in the city. Beyond the parade route, his career includes serving as the Executive Director of the Riversdale Business Improvement District and as a Provincial Police Commissioner.

“The success we have with our summer escape comes from people showing up and having fun,” Randy added.

Randy, alongside his wife Tammy, looks forward to riding in the Kick-Off Parade and officially starting the celebrations for the Saskatoon EX.
